GIOVANNA MIRITELLO (lecturer):
Giovanna is a data science leader with extensive experience in data applications, innovation, and strategy. At Vodafone, she is responsible for the planning and execution of strategic use cases across different business areas, from networks and energy to customer care and operations. She is also accountable for the technical roadmap and end-to-end implementation of some of the first GenAI use cases at Vodafone. Giovanna is passionate about data and how its analysis and applications can help us to better understand society and eventually improve it. She holds a PhD in Mathematical Engineering and her doctoral thesis on “Temporal patterns of human communication in social networks” was published by Springer as an outstanding work on applied science. Giovanna is also co-founder of Databeers, events that bring together people interested in data. After the success of the first Databeers Madrid, other satellite events are now happening in more than 40 cities around the world.
